Essential in times of stress

The Company Chaplain delivers a new kind of employee support: spiritual care from highly trained clinicians, for the difficulties we all face at times — when what you need is expert, confidential, caring wisdom, not mental health care.

Many employees fear the stigma of seeing a mental health provider, or of carrying a mental health diagnosis. They worry that asking for help looks like a lack of commitment, so they show up anyway, even when they're under the weather.

Now employers can augment their existing Employee Assistance Programs with professional Spiritual Care — a stigma-free option a team member can choose when the issue is life and work stress, or a crisis of meaning and purpose, rather than mental illness.

We're a natural partner for mental health care providers: clinically trained, interdisciplinary care providers who round out your employee care benefits.

Please note: we do not provide mental health care. If you are experiencing a life-threatening situation, call 911 or go immediately to an emergency room.

Compassionate care and support

A time tested organizational intervention

Some of the world's largest organizations send Chaplains alongside their troops — the army has done it for centuries, proof that spiritual care and support is essential in times of great employee stress. The Company Chaplain™ gives your team access to the same kind of care.

Through Covid, frontline workers faced the kind of constant danger that used to belong to the battlefield. Others carried uncertainty and loss. Doesn't your team deserve Spiritual Care and support, too?

A military company runs anywhere from a few dozen to 200 soldiers. Whatever the size of yours, join The Company Chaplain at the membership level that works for you, and give your most important asset a convenient, stigma-free choice for wellness.

Your workers are on the battlefield for you, they are key to the success of your business, and your membership in The Company Chaplain can help them through difficult times.

For employees

These are difficult times, and when something's wrong it isn't always obvious who to talk to — your boss, a friend, your family? Sometimes you want a neutral party who'll simply listen; someone who doesn't know you or the people around you. That's why The Company Chaplain™ is here.

Some common issues addressed by The Company Chaplain:

  • Worries, fear and uncertainty
  • Grief and bereavement
  • Isolation, loneliness
  • Discouragement and sadness
  • Relationship issues

An empathic listener, interested in what's most important to you

A Company Chaplain is a great listener, interested in you as a whole being — a holistic alternative to psychological counseling. Our focus is your emotional and spiritual well-being, so we'll ask what gives you strength and purpose in life, and support you in the values and interests that matter most to you. We are all spiritual beings here, drawing nourishment from our diverse faiths and practices.

We don't evangelize or proselytize — never trying to convert anyone is a prime directive for our professional chaplains. A Company Chaplain is a clinically trained, highly educated, empathic counselor who is Board certified: their education and training have been reviewed by an independent national professional body and found to meet the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.

Getting acquainted — what you can expect from a Company Chaplain

Most people have only a vague sense of chaplains as something to do with a church — and it's true you'll find people called chaplains doing great work in churches. Those folks aren't clinically trained, and rarely have the advanced education and professional training of a board-certified chaplain: the only kind of chaplain you'll find at The Company Chaplain™. Our diverse faiths give us strength and purpose and help us serve others, so belief and spirituality matter deeply to us — but we hold to the highest professional standards and will never try to convince anyone to think or act as we do, unless they directly ask us to share our beliefs or values.

What's vital to you might be faith, family and friends, or life goals — or some combination. It's different for everyone. But once we know the "secret sauce" that gives you strength, we'll work with you to draw out the flavors of those important ingredients, even if they aren't overtly "spiritual or religious." Out of those essential elements we'll craft a response to your current difficulties — a recipe to help you heal, thrive and move on to where you want to be in your life.

Confidential

Military-grade Confidentiality™

Company Chaplain services are highly confidential. Like our professional colleagues in the military, a Company Chaplain™ preserves the bond of trust with the people we serve by not making a report on what you share. Nothing goes to your employer, and nothing is entered in a medical record. We call that Military-grade Confidentiality™.

We are not mental health providers, so we won't make a mental health diagnosis or analysis as we talk. We listen, offer empathy, and help you clarify the roots of your concerns or suffering — then help you identify your strengths, reconnect with them, and start to heal.

CompanyRounds™

Building a culture of empathy and compassion at work

CompanyRounds™ is a unique, innovative, peer-support intervention. It provides a safe space for employees to share about the difficult feelings that can come up in our work lives, in a safe, facilitated space — enabling us human beings to be more:

  • Focused
  • Creative
  • Productive

Facilitated peer support, online by teleconference.

Healing through peer-to-peer support

CompanyRounds™ provides the support of a group and the healing power of empathy and compassion. Where individual counseling provides one-on-one support, CompanyRounds™ gives employees the trust-building experience of being supported by individuals like themselves.

Confidential and safe

CompanyRounds have been developed over six years, refined continuously from participants' feedback and ongoing research into their effectiveness. Safety and confidentiality for participants are our prime focus.

That's why every session is led by an experienced facilitator, and why all participants agree to confidentiality and ground rules before joining — including keeping the anonymity of participants and their employers. The facilitator watches the session closely to support meaningful conversation and the people who share, and The Company Chaplain provides additional resources afterwards for anyone who wants more support or follow-up.

Know what you're joining

What CompanyRounds is, and isn't

A Round is peer support, not therapy — held online, with agreed ground rules and an experienced facilitator.

CompanyRounds is

  • Facilitated peer support
  • Safe space to share difficult feelings about experiences connected to work
  • Experiencing empathy and compassion as we receive it in CompanyRounds
  • Giving empathy and compassion to others
  • Online, by teleconference
  • Source of healing experiences such as noticing, "I'm not alone."

CompanyRounds is not

  • Group therapy
  • Criticizing or second guessing what someone should have done
  • Problem solving or skills training
  • Education or dissemination of knowledge
  • In person
  • Didactic or instructing how to change your feelings

How a Round works

Join one, or schedule one for your team

Member companies get one complimentary session a year — additional Rounds whenever they're needed.

Topics vary each time

Every session of CompanyRounds has a topic that focuses the discussion. It can be anything relevant to your group, or something more general — for example:

  • Covid-related themes
  • Harassment and Objectification
  • Working from home

Everyone is protected by the agreements each participant makes: to listen without judgment, and to keep what they hear confidential.

There's no pressure to do anything during CompanyRounds — share or simply be present. The facilitator holds the space so those who want to talk about experiences the theme brings up can do so safely; other participants then respond from their own experience. To close, we explore what has been helpful for people in these situations.

Someone to talk to, whenever you need one.

Sessions scheduled online, delivered by Zoom or phone, protected by Military-grade Confidentiality™. No wait times.
