At Shear Bliss NYC, we treat every transformation as a work of art. Our talented artists invest their time, creativity, and expertise—often 7 to 8 hours—to deliver personalized results tailored to your unique hair texture, porosity, and history.

We kindly ask that all guests understand:

• Inspiration vs. Reality: Social media photos often show filtered, edited, or unrealistic results. While we strive to achieve your hair goals, exact replication is not always possible due to individual hair differences.
• No Refunds Once Services Are Rendered: Once a service is complete, and before-and-after photos are reviewed, no cancellations, chargebacks, or refunds will be accepted.
• Two-Week Adjustment Window: We proudly offer a complimentary adjustment within 14 days of your appointment if you're not fully satisfied. This can be done by the same stylist or another experienced team member to ensure your happiness.
• Respect for the Art: Hair coloring and transformations are not cookie-cutter services. Each look is custom and often takes multiple sessions to perfect. We ask for your trust, patience, and understanding throughout the journey.

By booking with Shear Bliss NYC, you agree to this policy and acknowledge the time, effort, and artistry that goes into every appointment.

At Shear Bliss NYC, the health and integrity of your hair are always our highest priority. Every color service is customized using professional products, advanced techniques, and carefully selected formulas to achieve the best possible result while preserving the condition of your hair.

However, it is important to understand that all chemical hair services—including lightening, highlighting, balayage, permanent color, glosses, toners, keratin treatments, smoothing treatments, and other professional services—alter the structure of the hair.

Even the most advanced, low-pH, acidic, or bond-building technologies work by creating controlled chemical changes within the hair. As a result, some degree of dryness, increased porosity, texture change, or color fading is a normal and expected part of the chemical process.

Hair health after your appointment depends on many factors beyond the salon, including:

• Your hair's existing condition and previous chemical history
• Home care products used after your appointment
• Heat styling frequency and temperature
• UV exposure
• Swimming pools, chlorine, salt water, and ocean exposure
• Hard water and mineral buildup
• Frequency of washing
• Mechanical damage from brushing or tight hairstyles

No professional color, toner, gloss, or smoothing treatment is permanent. Every service naturally changes over time based on maintenance, environmental exposure, and daily habits.

For this reason, clients agree that:

• Chemical services may result in expected dryness, increased porosity, or gradual fading.
• Hair texture and condition may vary depending on previous services and the hair's natural integrity.
• Ongoing home maintenance is essential to preserve both the cosmetic result and the health of the hair.
• The longevity of any service cannot be guaranteed due to factors outside the salon's control.

At Shear Bliss NYC, we are committed to providing our clients with the highest quality services in a clean, professional, and welcoming environment. To help offset the increasing costs associated with maintaining salon operations—including supplies, sanitation, and overall upkeep—we apply a $5 salon and convenience fee to each service visit.

This standard fee allows us to continue offering the level of excellence our clients expect, while ensuring our space remains safe, well-equipped, and aligned with industry expectations.

We thank you for your understanding and continued support. Your loyalty allows us to keep doing what we love—making you look and feel your best.

Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late may have their service shortened or rescheduled, and the deposit will not be refunded. Arrivals later than 20 minutes may be treated as a no-show and charged accordingly.

5. Product & Treatment Liability

All Pro Addiction, Keratin, Brazilian Blowout, and Hair Botox treatments are advanced chemical smoothing services. Results vary depending on hair condition, color history, and at-home maintenance. Clients are responsible for following all aftercare instructions provided by their stylist.

Important Notice: Due to the active ingredients in these treatments, it is normal for hair color to shift, lighten, or change tone — even on virgin or previously untreated hair. This reaction is a natural chemical process and is not caused by the stylist's application or technique. Shear Bliss NYC is not responsible for any color or tonal change resulting from the product's chemical reaction. A gloss or toner service may be recommended after treatment to restore or adjust the desired shade if needed.

Shear Bliss NYC is not liable for results affected by prior chemical services, box color, medications, or failure to follow professional home care recommendations. Refunds are not available once a service has been performed, though adjustments may be offered at management's discretion within seven (7) days of the appointment.

6. Payment & Refunds

The remaining service balance is due on the day of your appointment. Accepted payment methods: credit card, debit card, Zelle, or cash. Refunds (if applicable) will be issued to the original payment method within five (5) business days. Retail products must be unopened and returned within seven (7) days for salon credit only.

7. Acknowledgment

By booking any Pro Addiction, Brazilian Blowout, Keratin, Hair Botox, or other chemical hair treatment at Shear Bliss NYC, you acknowledge and agree to all terms listed above. Our policies are designed to maintain fairness, professionalism, and the highest level of care for every client.

At Shear Bliss NYC, we specialize in all types of premium hair extensions, including K-Tip (Keratin Tip), Weft, Tape-In, I-Tip, Micro-Bead, and custom blended extensions. Each set of extensions is personally customized to the client's desired length, color, and thickness. Because these services require special ordering, preparation, and application time, the following policy ensures clarity and fairness for both our clients and stylists.

1. Consultation & Deposit

• All extension services begin with an in-person or virtual consultation to determine your goals, color match, texture, and the appropriate method for your hair type.
• A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total estimated cost (including hair) is required to place the order and reserve your appointment.
• This deposit covers the custom hair order, which is purchased specifically for you and cannot be reused or returned.
• The remaining balance is due on the day of your service once the application is complete.
• Appointments are not confirmed until the deposit is received.

2. Custom Hair Orders

• All hair extensions are custom ordered per client to ensure the perfect match in color, length, and density.
• Once the hair has been ordered, the cost of the hair is non-refundable, even if you decide not to proceed with the application.
• If the appointment is rescheduled within our notice period, your ordered hair will be safely stored and applied on your new date.

3. Cancellation & Rescheduling

• A minimum of 72 hours' notice is required for any appointment changes or cancellations.
• Cancellations made after 72 hours will result in forfeiture of the service portion of your deposit.
• The cost of the ordered hair remains non-refundable under all circumstances, as it cannot be returned to the manufacturer.
• No-shows or same-day cancellations will be charged 100% of the total service fee, including the value of the hair.
• Clients who cancel multiple times may be required to prepay in full for future services.

4. Installation & Application Policy

• The stylist will determine the correct method and placement to ensure the safest and most natural results.
• Because each client's hair texture, density, and scalp condition are unique, results and longevity may vary.
• Adjustments or tightening are not included in the initial installation price unless otherwise stated.
• Clients are responsible for following all care instructions provided after the service.

5. Maintenance & Removal

• Proper maintenance is essential for healthy hair and the longevity of your extensions.
• Recommended maintenance appointments are typically every 6–10 weeks, depending on the method used.
• Removal, move-up, or reinstallation are separate services and will be charged accordingly.
• Shear Bliss NYC is not responsible for damage or tangling caused by failure to follow professional maintenance or aftercare instructions.
• Please do not attempt to remove extensions at home — doing so may cause breakage or hair loss.
