East Village Books is a cash-only, bring-your-own-bags used bookstore on St. Marks Place. We sell books, and we buy them — every day, for thirty years. Scholarly subjects are what we know best, and estate libraries are our specialty.
If the quantity is large, call us first. We can advise on packing, help you unload, and make moving arrangements.

DRIVING UP TO THE STORE — SEASONAL STREET NOTICE
MAY – NOVEMBER · WEEKEND BARRIERS
If you're bringing books to sell or donate by vehicle for an appointment on Friday after 4:30 PM, or Saturday and Sunday after 11:30 AM, read this before you drive over. Because of the City's weekend street program (April through October), the street has metal barriers at the entrance.
- Look for our sign on the barriers at the opening of the street.
- They open easily — flashers on, and close the barrier behind you.
- The store is a third of the way down, on the left.
- Move our cones if you need to, then park and unload.
- Replace the cones when you leave. There are no barriers at the exit end of the street.
The street is always open for your vehicle doing business with East Village Books.

DONATIONS
Donations of books are definitely welcome. We keep a fund for non-profits that we replenish from the sale of books that have been donated to us.
