I founded Rooted Wellness after having my first child, because I experienced first hand how women are not getting the reproductive healthcare we deserve. Every woman should have access to personalized, evidence-based, holistic wellness support. At Rooted Wellness we celebrate the uniqueness of each woman and translate nutrition science into guidance you can actually act on. After all, nutrition should revolve around your lifestyle, instead of your lifestyle revolving around your nutrition.

Founder
Sarah Rueven is a New York City–based Registered Dietitian. She studied History and Education Studies at Brandeis University, and — like many of her clients — struggled with her weight and body image as a young adult. Turning that around meant teaching herself about nutrition and wellness, and living a balanced, healthy life became a genuine passion she wanted to share.
She went on to earn a Master’s in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics at New York University and was accepted into NYU’s competitive Dietetic Internship, completing it at NYU Langone Medical Center. There she provided clinical nutrition therapy to patients with diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease, HIV/AIDS, GI disorders and hypertension.
Sarah is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Greater New York Dietetics Association, the Women’s Health Practice Group and the Pediatric Nutrition Practice Group, and a founding advisory board member of Robyn, a maternal wellness resource. She lives in lower Manhattan with her husband and their two young kids.
Registered Dietitian
Kirsten Burns is a California-based Registered Dietitian. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business at the University of Southern California, then worked at Thrive Global — Arianna Huffington’s behavior-change company built to end the burnout epidemic — where her interest in nutrition’s effect on well-being and long-term health took hold. She returned to USC for a Master of Science in Nutrition, Healthspan and Longevity, completing her supervised practice hours at Sutter Health CPMC in San Francisco.
As a new mother, Kirsten is deeply passionate about the role nutrition plays in fertility and pregnancy outcomes, and guides women through those stages with evidence-based, supportive care. Outside of work she’s trying new recipes, hiking the trails of Marin, and spending time with her husband and baby.
